FINAL POST OF AS LEVEL MEDIA

Name - Poppy Haynes
Candidate Number - 7305
Centre Number - 17131
School - John F Kennedy school
Chosen Brief - Print - Front Cover, Contents Page & Double Page Spread of Music Magazine

Monday 25 April 2011

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

How did you attract/address your audience?

Who would be the audience for your media project?

The typical reader of my music magazine would be either a female or male of the late teens that takes a particular interest in indie music. It would be someone who is interested in alternative fashion, films and possibly play music in a band.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Photo Shoot

Image Required
Front Cover - The image i require is a close up photograph of a female (head and shoulder shot) with dramatic make up (ie facepaints etc) to draw the audience to the magazine.
Contents - For the contents, I would like the same female i have used close up on the front cover but about three full body shots of her posing.
Double page spread - for the double page spread i am going to theme it with polaroid photo's of a band playing live to which i have already taken photographs for.
Models
For the models i only need one girl who will be willing to have her face painted and hair done etc.
Costume
For the costume i need eccentric clothing and face paints.
Props
There will be no props needed for my photo shoot.
Location
The location would be a place where there is a clear white background, or a collaged background, however i am undecided so will take photographs in both predicaments and then go on to decide which looks better.
Equipment
The only equipment i will need is a working camera that will capture the detail of the make up on the female model i am using.

Missionary Statement

Who is it for?
My target audience for the indie magazine i am designing is for males and females of 15 onwards.
What is it for?
It is a music magazine that will focus on indie music. It will be made in such a way that will attract the target audience (people interested in indie music etc) and inform them on new bands/music for them to listen to aswell as other things that the stereotypical indie person would be interested in (for example certain television programmes etc) helping the readers stay up to date with not only the music they are interested in, but the genre as a whole.
Unique selling point.
The magazine will include things such as articles on certain bands, exclusive interviews and photographs that are not featured in any other magazines. It will also cover things such as life as whole for the typical 'indie' person, which is something not featured in any other magazines.
